Come and join us for the return of the Run Alton Towers 10k at the UK’s largest theme park on Saturday 12th November 2022. You are guaranteed a great day out with theme park entry and access to all the rides included in your entry!!
Each distance will be accurately marked out with KM flags and mile markers and there will be plenty of helpers along the course to keep you on track and encourage you all the way to the finish line.
Start Time: 10k – 10am | Kids Race – 11:15am

Kids race
Open to kids of all ages and adults are more than welcome to join their child or let them run solo this is entirely personal preference!
Each participant will receive a medal and post race goodies.
Please keep an eye out on our website for updates on this once the distance and start time have been finalised.

Alton Towers Resort is located between the M1 and the M6 and is well signposted from both motorways. Depending on your direction, the nearest motorway exits are:
M1 Northbound – Junction 23a
M1 Southbound – Junction 28
M6 Northbound – Junction 15
M6 Southbound – Junction 16
Please drive with care when you’re in the area, as there are many walkers, cyclists and horse riders, and the roads can be very thin in places.
Some Sat Nav systems may take you down a local farm track (especially if you’re coming from the B5417). Please follow the road signs for the last few miles.
Please be aware that the B5417 is closed until 8th May, guests arriving to the Resort from the Ashbourne direction should follow diversion signs.
By Train
Visitors can travel to Alton Towers Resort by train, via several popular destinations. Visit thetrainline.com to search for train times and prices.
Uttoxeter Train Station:
Uttoxeter station is the nearest train station to Alton Towers, just 10 miles from the resort. Uttoxeter station is just a 20 minute drive away from the resort or 30 minutes by bus.
Stoke on Trent Station:
Stoke on Trent rail station is 15 miles from Alton Towers Resort. A local taxi would take around 25 minutes to the resort.
Derby Train Station:
Derby train station is around 25 miles from Alton Towers. From there you will need to order a taxi or a car service to arrive at the resort in around 50 minutes to one hour.
By Bus
D&G Bus are operating two services to Alton Towers Resort.
The X41 is a daily bus service from Stafford & Uttoxeter to Alton Towers Resort.
Departing Stafford railway station at 9.30am each day, the bus route includes Weston and Uttoxeter on the way to Alton Towers Resort. The X41 departs Alton Towers at 17.30.
The 32X is a Monday - Saturday bus service from Stoke Railway Station to Alton Towers Resort.
Departing Stoke railway station at 8.55am each day, the bus route includes Hanley, Werrington & Cheadle on the way to Alton Towers Resort. The 32X departs Alton Towers at 17.30.
We also offer free coach parking for private parties and school trips travelling on a private hire bus.
Bus times are estimates and may vary throughout the year. Please check prior to travelling.
Without A Car
You don’t need a car to join in the fun at Alton Towers theme park and resort. The resort has excellent public transport links. Young visitors, large groups and environmentally conscious visitors travelling to the resort can do so by train.
There are three train stations near Alton Towers: Stoke-on-Trent, Uttoxeter and Derby. Guests arriving at Stafford or Uttoxeter railway station can use the daily bus service direct to the resort. Other visitors will need to contact a local taxi service for the rest of the journey to the resort.
We also have bicycle racks close to the theme park entrance, for local visitors and keen cyclists to utilise free of charge.
